Kristi Head creates evocative paintings that traverse the realms of representation, surrealism, and abstraction. Working primarily in oils, her compositions feature idealistic motifs of flora, landscapes, and feminine figures, crafting what she describes as magical realms that transport viewers beyond the mundane offering moments of respite. Her works range from playful expressions of whimsy to complex explorations of the human experience.

Beyond the canvas, her practice extends to mural and commercial design, large-scale fabric dyeing, and wearables. As an avid photography enthusiast, she often finds inspiration through her own lens.

Born in Huntington, NY in 1977, Kristi began her classical training at Huntington Fine Arts (1993-1995) and earned a dual BA in Fine Arts and Art History from Boston University in 1999. She has furthered her education at institutions like Parsons School of Design (2003-2004), Anderson Ranch Arts Center (2020) and The NY Institute of Photography (2002). Her work has been featured in publications such as Domino and Surface Magazines. A former New Yorker, she now lives and works in Los Angeles.
