Desirée Patterson is a Canadian artist, based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Patterson’s main medium is photography. Whether digitally enhanced or in-camera, her compositions capture conceptual perspectives and in-depth observations of her surroundings. Her work often features organic elements and synthetic imagery thoughtfully fused together in an effort to offer insight into the ultimate disconnection of the contemporary individual to their own natural world. With a passion for environmental conservation, Patterson attempts to unite viewers with a personal sense of ecological awareness, while promoting individual stewardship. Her work has been exhibited at the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Whistler Convention Center in Whistler, British Columbia, The Other Art Fair via Saatchi in Los Angeles, California, Capture Photography Festival in Vancouver, British Columbia, and the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards at Somerset House, in London, England. Patterson’s work also resides in private collections in Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles, Singapore, London, New York, Hong Kong, and Toronto.
