AT Art and Interiors and SPACE are hosting, (ego), a solo exhibition featuring photographic works by Cody Briggs exploring ego and the notion of ‘self’ in 2021.
Brigg’s created this series of photographic work for the “(ego)” Exhibition to investigate his relationship to ego and identity through the practice of self portraiture. By examining cliches of beauty and romance the artist wishes to navigate continuously into deeper sincerity and revelation. Brigg’s is consumed with intertwining modes of representation and investigating how they create and destroy the notion of a “Self”. He is drawn to what cannot be destroyed but only altered; seen from a different angle or reflection. Through examining and documenting his own impulses toward how he is represented, Brigg’s is confronted by his ever-present self.
