This project is located in the 16th floor conference room in the TELUS Sky building in the heart of downtown Calgary, Canada. Our objective was to add artworks to the space that create a cohesive feeling with the furniture selected by Contemporary Office Interiors and MH Design Group. The client was seeking to select furniture and art that is both functional yet aesthetically pleasing, reflecting TELUS Sky’s dedication to environmental design. The team’s goal was to create a space that connects the surrounding Calgary nature, including a color palette that is both warm and inviting to allow for a calming yet stimulating work environment. TELUS Sky already hosts a world-renowned art collection from some of Canada’s top artists. We selected one of Calgary’s best abstract expressionist artists, Cindy Delpart, to add to TELUS Sky’s art collection. Cindy’s work was selected as it represents the natural prairie landscape environment that can be viewed from the high-rise building. The natural color tones in Cindy’s paintings perfectly compliments the textiles selected for the furniture. Plants were added in the space to bring a natural feeling and to harmonize with the 11 storey living green wall that can be seen in the lobby of TELUS Sky. The result is a corporate conference room space that adds to TELUS Sky’s unique urban live-play-work lifestyle and mixed used building.
